S’acaba l’hivern i aquests dies hem fet els últims tallers de Littlebits d’aquesta estació, un ‘Maker en família’ i un amb els nens i nenes del Casal Diari de l’SDIA. Com sempre tant petits com grans han utilitzat tota la seva creativitat per a treure el màxim partit d’aquests petits blocs imantats i crear projectes molt engrescadors.
Comencem pel ‘Maker en família: Littlebits’. Una de les característiques de MakerConvent és que ens agrada treballar de forma intergeneracional i així ho fem en aquest taller, on pares, mares, tietes i tiets, col·laboren amb els petits per a realitzar els diferents projectes. En aquest cas, el tema eren Wearables, i consistia en afegir noves característiques que complementessin la seva funció normal a diverses peces de roba i estris. Gorres que incorporen ventiladors per generar aire quan a l’estiu fa molta calor o leds per il·luminar-te en la foscor; davantals que també miren de refrescar-te quan a la cuina la temperatura és massa elevada i que van acompanyats de llums per poder veure millor tot allò que manipules mentre cuines; un guant de forn traïdor, que amb un sensor de pressió, evita que puguis agafar certes coses del rebost, en són alguns exemples.

Winter is arriving to its end and these days we have held a couple of Littlebits workshops, the lasts of this season. The first one, was a ‘Maker en família’ (Family Maker) and the other was with the SDIA, the Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí program for kids. As always, all the participants have used all their creativity to get the maximum profit of theses little magnetic blocks to create really cool projects.
Let’s start with the ‘Maker en família: Littlebits’. One of the MakerConvent characteristics is that we love to work in an intergenerational way, and that’s how we do it in this workshop. Mother, fathers, uncles and aunts work together with the kids to make different projects. In this one, the theme was ‘wearables’, and was about adding new features to different clothes and objects. They created caps with fans for warm summers or with LEDs to light up dark places; they made aprons that cool you down when the kitchen temperature is too high and they had lights too, to see better what you cook; there was a treacherous oven glove, with a pressure sensor, that avoids you taking some stuff from the fridge or the cupboard, for example.
